THE STANDING PROBLEM

A starved compressor walks toward its surge line

A fouled suction filter collapses CMP-01's inlet pressure and mass flow. Anti-surge margin goes negative while CMP-02 idles at part load. Surge damages the machine in seconds, and the operator's instinct — hold export by pushing the sick machine harder — is exactly wrong.

Pull a starved export compressor away from its surge line and hold export throughput: unload CMP-01, transfer duty to CMP-02, open the pressure-control valve to shed back-pressure, and require operator confirmation before the change is applied.
